This podcast is about bringing parents, players, and coaches together around the most important aspects of the youth sports experience. You have thousands of teachable moments in the context of a 15-year window where kids are most open to learning and development - physically, mentally, tactically, emotionally, psychosocially, and in terms of core character.

The goal of this podcast is to boost our enjoyment of the game and of the gift we have in our children. We hope to help parents, players, and coaches to make the most of the time we have with our kids, and to launch them into the world of adulthood with a solid toolbox of life skills.

Youth Sports organizations can have a positive impact on the community beyond the sport they serve. Often a centerpiece of family activity, youth sports organizations have a responsibility to connect with and be involved with the families they serve. When families are in need, they turn to the pillars in their community: the church, the school, and yes... even the youth sports club.

In this episode, we share a story of a family in need and our Club's response to that need. At the end of the day, we raised money, brought neighbors together around stuff that matters, and sent a clear message to youth watching these adults work together - that community is important, and we help one another when we can.

  • What kind of things is your club doing to connect with the community above and beyond the sport it serves?
  • How might we position youth sports clubs as leaders in the community and extend the message of character development into the lives of our member families?
